The Boy Scouts of America has always been the leader in water safety and rescue. Swim tests are required prior to participation in many aquatics activities. Buddy tags keep track of the location of all Scouts in all water activities, all Scouts must swim or boat with a buddy, and all aquatics participants must be counted in a buddy check every 15 minutes. Lifeguard protection is utilized for all water activities. Akelaland maintains staff with the highest levels of training, and we are able to complete our own CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard certification programs.

Your unit may conduct swim tests prior to arriving at camp. For convenience you can download a swim roster to fill out with all the required information. Minsi Trails Council offers an opportunity to attend swim tests in the Lehigh Valley prior to camp. Stay alert for upcoming events to find out when and where!
