This course is hands on instruction covering methods and techniques of cooking in the Outdoors.
Course emphasis will be Dutch Ovens, types, cleaning, care, and use. Several dishes will be prepared including appetizers, main courses and desserts. The best part is eating what you prepare!
Several other cooking methods will be covered including the selection and use of backpack stoves and weight economy meals, foil pack meals, and box oven cooking.
**This course is limited to 6 participants and runs concurrent with the Council Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) Training. While not required you can camp Friday, Saturday, or both nights (will need to provide your own camping gear) with the IOLS participants.
