Q. How many youth will be chosen to go?

A.  MTC has reserved 1.5 troops.

Q.  How do I know as a youth I will be selected to participate?

A.  You will receive an email confirmation once you have completed your NJ 2017 online registration, this does not guarantee a spot.  After the MTC contingent committee reviews your application, you will receive a second email stating your status.  If you receive an email "Level 1 Approved" confirmation, you will be notified of your next step via email from the MTC contingent committee.  If you receive a waitlist confirmation, either the youth contingent is full or NJ 2017 online registrar is  waiting for additional information from you; possible incomplete information.

Q.  How do I know as an adult unit leader 18-25 year old or 26 + year old will be selected to go?

A.  Once you have registered through the NJ 2017 online registration site, you will be placed in a waitlist category.  The MTC - NJ 2017 Committee will use the information you have provided in your NJ 2017 registration to determine adult unit leaders.  These positions are very limited and at minimum one 18-25 year old will be selected as a 3rd assistant scoutmaster for each Boy Scout Troop.  The determining criteria will be based off; current position within a unit, BSA training, leadership attributes, and previous Jamboree experience.  Be patient with this process and recognize consideration will be given to those who have not attended previously.

Q.  What if I am NOT chosen as an adult unit leader?

A.  Your best option would be to apply for the National Jamboree 2017 Staff.  There are many opportunities for adults to help and experience this event.  We strongly encourage all those to join the NJ 2017 Staff.
