All units in Northampton County will complete the re-charter process by Saturday, December 5th -- the day Northampton District will hold its first annual Re-charter Day at Wind Gap Fire Company beginning at 9am.  Units from the retiring Districts of Forks of the Delaware, North Valley, and South Mountain, are strongly encouraged to submit completed paperwork prior to 12/5 if possible by delivering or postal mailing all necessary documents to the Council Service Center.  Other options include e-mailing the paperwork or setting appointments with professional or commissioner staff.  If you are done early, turn it in now and skip the wait!

 

Should your unit choose to attend the Re-charter Day event, be aware that we are recommending a "Drop & Go" express-style appointment.  At a later date, your unit's charter will be reviewed so that your leadership will be informed of any necessary corrections and contacted regarding balance due if payment was not made that morning.  Per PA Health Department mandates, COVID restrictions will limit the number of people in the building at all times, so each unit should only send one representative.  In addition, there will be a sign-in station for contact tracing and a temperature check before admission.  Appointments can be set using the link below on a first-come/first-served basis:

Fees per Scouter on the charter are as follows: 

  • $68 ($66 membership and an additional $2 insurance) per youth
  • $44 ($42 membership and an additional $2 insurance) per adult
  • $2 insurance for each Lion and Tiger Partner in Cub Scout Packs
  • $12 for each Boy's Life subscription

 

Be prepared – all units are required to include the following items (if they haven’t already been turned in): 

  • Act 15 paperwork
  • training certificates
  • a signed Annual Charter Agreement which is part of the on-line re-charter package leaders print-out after completion

 

Units will not be able to re-charter individuals who do not have current Youth Protection certification.  Moreover, leaders will not be able to re-register in their current positions or switch to another direct contact role without completion of all required courses that are available on-line.  Units will be advised to re-assign leaders as Committee Members or remove them from charters if trainings are not completed.
