NRA Basic Pistol

Date - Saturday September 10^th 2022

Location- Camp Trexler Nature lodge

8am to 5pm Saturday

This course is at least 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning how to shoot Pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; Proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with NRA certified Instructor. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take the Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate.

This is a pre-requisite for NRA Pistol Instructor Course we are planning for soon after this class. This is a BSA only class. Course is also open to Venture Crew Members and Sea Scouts in the Minsi Trails Council.

MTC council member Cost is $50.00 per person

Lunch will not be provided, so please pack a lunch.

Class size will be limited (approx. 20) based on the current state social distancing guidelines. And the availability of NRA instructors.
