What is Seasonal Cub Scouting?

The Seasonal Cub Scout Program is a flexible way for families to experience Cub Scouting through a series of themed, short-term programs held throughout the year. Each season features a structured set of activities designed to introduce youth to the fun, skills, and values of Scouting.

Rather than a traditional year-round pack, this program allows families to participate in individual seasonal sessions, making it easy to try Cub Scouts without a long-term commitment.

Each seasonal program includes a series of weekly meetings where Scouts participate in hands-on activities, outdoor skills, games, and themed adventures. Sessions conclude with a special culminating event or challenge that brings the season’s theme to life.

The program is open to youth in grades 2–4, and no previous Scouting experience is required.

Program Outline

Each seasonal session typically includes:

• 9–12 weekly meetings

• A fun, engaging theme that guides the activities

• Hands-on learning and outdoor skills

• Games, teamwork, and problem-solving challenges

• A final racing adventure and awards recognition event

Scouts will explore many of the core elements of Cub Scouting while enjoying a program designed to fit into busy family schedules.

General Information

The Seasonal Cub Scout Program is open to:

• 2nd – 4th grade youth

• Families who want to try Cub Scouts without committing to a full year

• New families interested in Scouting

No uniforms or previous experience are required to participate.

Cost: $350 for a full session.

Employment Opportunities

The Seasonal Cub Scout Program is always looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Program Aides. Program Aides assist with weekly meetings by helping set up activities, preparing materials, supporting program delivery, and helping create a fun and welcoming environment for youth and families. This role is ideal for adults who enjoy working with children and want to help bring the excitement of Scouting to local communities.

Program Aides must be at least 21 years old and will be required to complete all Pennsylvania Act 15 youth protection clearances, as well as any applicable Boy Scouts of America youth protection requirements. Training and guidance will be provided to ensure every Program Aide feels confident supporting the program.
