The ABC’s of Safety
For Cub Scout Packs
Helping Cub Scouts make smart and safe choices during Pack meetings, activities, and adventures
Attitude – How you THINK about safety
- I care about keeping myself and other Scouts safe
- I pay attention during Pack meetings and activities
- I choose to do the right thing, even when alone
Example: Listening carefully when safety rules are explained
Behavior – What you DO
- Walk, don’t run, during Pack meetings
- Use tools, gear, and materials the correct way
- Follow Pack rules and leader instructions
Example: Keeping gear picked up and used as instructed
Control – How you STAY in charge of yourself
- Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself
- Stay calm and focused during activities
- Stop and listen right away when leaders speak
Example: Lining up quickly when a leader gives the signal
Safe Attitude + Safe Behavior + Self-Control = A Safe Cub Scout Pack
